Application Field: The MP4KE15AE3 TVS Diode provides efficient protection to multiple electronic components in various electronic applications. It is especially suited for very high speed data communication systems such as USB 3.0, HDMI, DisplayPort, MIPI, eMMC, etc. The low capacitance of the device ensures protection of digital systems from interfering Radiated or Conducted ESDs with low signal distortion. Moreover, this diode can also protect I/O port of computer systems such as network adapter cards, sound cards, graphics cards, controller interface cards, etc. Additionally, it is suitable to protect data communication ports in consumer electronics such as mobile, tablets, LCD, etc.
Working Principle: The MP4KE15AE3 TVS Diode provides two modes of protection namely Clamping and Linear. The Clamping mode is used to protect the electronic components from fast transients by clamping the over stress current paths to their holdingvoltage. In Linear mode, the diode provides a positive temperature coefficient (PTC) against slow and repetitive transients. It effectively reduces the stress voltage to a low Vz voltage level, enabling the electronic device to withstand repetitively appearing transients. The MP4KE15AE3 TVS Diode functions as a bidirectional device,and is ESD protected up-to ±45kV HBM. It has a low breakdown voltage of 15V (RMS) and a low leakage current of 0.001µA.
