PE4314B-Z is one of the attenuator families that have been developed by E2V Technologies as a general-purpose, broadband, in-line attenuator device. It is designed to provide a high isolation, low insertion loss and wide return loss from 10 MHz up to 18 GHz. The typical RF spectrum for the PE4314B-Z covers a frequency range of 10 MHz to 18GHz, with an overall gain of 0dB and a return loss greater than 10.17dB. This family of attenuators is designed to provide wideband power level adjustment with excellent linearity, low distortion and high precision. The main difference between the PE4314B-Z family and other typical attenuators is its wide bandwidth. The PE4314B-Z family of attenuators works by using a thin film circuit board, which contains a matched pair of PIN diode switches that are connected in a bridge configuration. This bridge configuration allows the current to flow through the two switches in series, resulting in voltage attenuation across the circuit. The attenuation amount is controlled by a bias voltage applied to the PIN diode bridge. The PE4314B-Z family is a versatile, low-cost solution for a wide range of RF applications.
