Power Factor Correction (PFC) involves the adjustment of input current so that the magnitude and phase of the current is in sync with the voltage of the power supply. This is done to minimize power losses during the transmission and consumption of electricity. The PFS7536H is an Integrated Switching Regulator Power (ISR power) dedicated to the Power Factor Correction (PFC) application. It has a powerful MOSFET output stage that provides up to 130mΩ of low ON resistance at 95A and up to 1.2Ω of low gate resistance at rated current.

The PFS7536H comes equipped with two dedicated PFC controllers capable of operating in both continuous conduction and discontinuous conduction modes. Besides, this controller also offers both constant current (CCM) and constant voltage (DCM) modes for maximum efficiency in Power Factor Correction. It also features a built-in Active Voltage Positioning (AVP) that maintains the correct voltage levels over input-load variations.

The PFS7536H features an integrated Low Output Voltage Shut-Off (LOFS) that reduces the output voltage to a safe-shutdown value when the output current is below a certain threshold. This is useful in protecting the connected load against over-voltage or over-current. Also, this device features a wide operating temperature range of -40°C to 125°C.

The PFS7536H also offers high-precision output voltage, minimum output ripple, and low EMI. It provides excellent line-load regulation along with protection against short circuits. To reduce the component count and to simplify system design, a wide range of external components are provided.

The PFS7536H is suitable for a wide range of PFC applications including LCD TVs, computer monitors, printer systems, environmental control systems, HVAC systems, servers, telecom equipment, network systems, and UPS systems. It is available in the space-saving TO-220 package and is compatible with a wide range of input and output voltages.
