A TRIAC, or Triode for Alternating Current, is a three-terminal switch that is used in location of a conventional thyristor. TRIACs are mainly used in controlling the speed of AC motors, dimmers and switching applications. TRIACs are commonly used in low- and medium-power applications ranging from fractions of a watt to tens of watts, while thyristors are used in higher power applications up to thousand watts or more.The Q6016NH2RP is one such TRIAC that offers a variety of applications and features.
