Working Principle
The SA110A-E3/54 contains a Zener diode voltage clamp and an internal discharge resistor. The SA110A-E3/54 also contains an adjustable circuit protection threshold of between 60 and 120V.
The SA110A-E3/54 is designed for bidirectional protection. When voltage is applied in the reverse direction, the device clamps the voltage to a fixed voltage level. When voltage is applied in the forward direction, the device clamps the voltage to the adjustable circuit protection threshold.
The SA110A-E3/54 is designed to be mounted directly on a printed circuit board (PCB) and can withstand multiple surge events. The device has a low profile and is no more than 1.6mm in height, which makes it suitable for applications with limited board space. The device also offers low capacitance, high-speed operation, and low-capacitance (<15pF) for low signal loss during protection.
