The STEVAL-MKI154V1 evaluation board (EB) is a smart sensor interface board designed to enable users to easily configure and interface to various analog and digital sensory platforms. By configuring the board, development of applications for a variety of industry-leading analog and digital sensory systems can be expedited, especially when used in combination with the STMicroelectronics’ SmartEmbedded Sensor library of integrated components.The STEVAL-MKI154V1 EB includes an on-board temperature sensor and several other digital and analog inputs, as well as three digital outputs that can be used to control other sensors. It also includes several micro-controllers and digital signal processors (DSPs) to take full advantage of the available sensor I/O connections. This board includes a USB interface to facilitate easy connection and communication with a host computer, simplifying development.The STEVAL-MKI154V1 EB makes use of several components to create a comprehensive platform capable of acting as a hub to multiple sensory inputs. Working in tandem with the available SULE and SAUL integrated components, it provides users with several options for acquiring, processing, and storing data from digital and analog sources.The built-in STM32F0 MCU executes commands issued over the USB interface. The board also contains a signal conditioning element to ensure accurate data communication with external sensors. The on board temperature sensor outputs a signal through one of nine available analog-to-digital converters (ADC) or one of three digital-to-analog converters (DAC).The STEVAL-MKI154V1 EB also includes accelerometer, barometer, and magnetometer sensing capabilities, making it suitable for applications requiring data acquisition from these types of sensors. The ADC and DAC modules also allow direct access to the microprocessor, providing additional program control capabilities.The STEVAL-MKI154V1 EB provides users with a comprehensive sensing platform for interfacing to external sensory devices. Through its easy setup and configuration, the EB enables developers to quickly integrate various sensory sources into a unified platform.
