The TPS2231RGPTG4 is a low-cost power management switch solution with fixed voltage drive and integrated fault flag output. It is purpose-built to drive FETs in advanced port applications, as well as Motor control and Emergency shut down systems. Designed to meet the emerging requirements of high-performance, low-power systems and applications, it provides reliable control of a single FET and protects the system from over-current and inrush conditions, while maintaining low quiescent current levels. This device is best suited for applications where a complete power management and switching solution is needed with a minimum number of components.The TPS2231RGPTG4 is a buck-driver type power management switch with built in fixed voltage drive for FETs and integrated fault flag output. It helps to reduce system component count and cost, as well as complexity, by integrating several critical functions into a single component. It is designed to provide reliable control of a single FET and protect the system from over-current and inrush conditions, while maintaining low quiescent current levels. The device can be used in single FET, multi-FET, or buck converter applications.The TPS2231RGPTG4 has two independent FET drivers which can be used to control two FETs. Each FET driver is capable of driving 400mA and supports voltage levels up to 48V. The device also includes an integrated fault flag output that can be used to monitor and detect over-current conditions. The fault flag output can be used to shut down the system in the event of an over-current event.The TPS2231RGPTG4 also includes advanced protection features such as over-current protection and over-temperature protection. The over-current protection feature limits the current drawn by the device to protect against excessive current drains. The over-temperature protection feature will shut down the device if it reaches a temperature outside its allowed operating range, thus protecting against thermal runaway.The TPS2231RGPTG4 can be used in a variety of PMIC - Power Distribution Switches, Load Drivers applications such as LED driving, motor control, emergency shutdown, and high-side switch applications.
