The TPS22916BYFPT is a robust power management integrated circuit (PMIC) designed to deliver the highest levels of reliability and performance required in today’s advanced applications. The heart of the TPS22916BYFPT is a control logic block and two power MOSFETs. The logic block incorporates a variety of protection features to ensure safe and efficient operation. These features include a thermal protection circuit that will shut off the internal power MOSFET if overheating occurs, as well as over-temperature sensing, over-current sensing, under-voltage sensing, over-voltage sensing, and fault indication. When the device is enabled, the signal generator will automatically enable and disable the appropriate MOSFETs depending on the state of the distribution pins. The “always-off-gate” mode allows the user to turn the device off for short periods of time and prevent backflow of current.
