UCC2837N is an advanced single-phase pulse-width modulated (PWM) controller in Texas Instruments\' family of Power Switcher controllers. UCC2837N Working Principle

The UCC2837N is a current-mode controller, which generates a 50% duty cycle square wave. By modulating the on-time, the average output voltage is regulated to the desired value independent of power supply voltages and load changes. Due to the high current-mode loop bandwidth, it accurately controls the voltage in fast transient applications and ensures fast response time even under high load current. The UCC2837N controller’s internal clock oscillator allows full control of the switching frequency, and includes enable, disable and sequentially enabled features.

The device features include a 5-bit DAC for setting the reference voltage, built in precision current sense amplifiers for sensing and error amplifier for adjusting the system gain. The thermal shutdown protection, overvoltage protection and overcurrent protection circuits protect the system from faulty or overrated loads.
