UCC3570NG4 is a highly integrated AC/DC offline switch power integrated circuit that is designed for use in consumer applications such as cellular phones, PDAs and notebook computers. It is designed to efficiently convert high input voltages from a wide range of AC/DC secondary supplies into low voltage for powering microprocessors and other low voltage DC systems. It operates at frequencies up to 500kHz and it can remain in direct connection with the AC/DC line even in the event of an over-voltage or over-current.The UCC3570NG4 integrated device provides instantaneous protection against both under-voltage and over-voltage conditions as well as over-current and short-circuits. It features built-in fault detection and latch functionalities so that any over-voltage, over-current or short-circuits can be detected with the circuit shutting down immediately. The device also features a wide voltage range of 5.5V to 25V and a power output of up to 150W. It includes two low-dropout linear regulators along with a shared error amplifier and soft-start circuitry for controlling the switching power FET, providing overload and overtemperature protection. The INT/EXT input provides an offset to the error amplifier and sets the overvoltage threshold. The device also contains programmable multi-channel over-voltage protection and integrated gate driver circuitry.The UCC3570NG4 integrated power device is designed to operate from either a single AC/DC secondary supply or a combination of a primary and an optional auxiliary secondary supply. The device supports both classical AC/DC and bridging applications. The converter outputs can be connected in parallel for providing higher power outputs.
