The UCC3808N-1 is a PMIC (Power Management IC) in the form of a cost-effective, low-power AC DC converter and offline switcher targeted for a wide range of applications, including PWM motor control, lighting control, digital hearing aids, and appliances. The PMIC offers an integrated solution that combines Synchronous Rectification (SR) and Linear Regulators (LRs) to provide efficient and reliable power supply performance.

The UCC3808N-1 can be used in applications involving AC line input voltage of 85 to 265 VAC or up to ±18 VDC. It contains a synchronous rectifier controller and a linear regulator controller, which together with the external MOSFETs, the inductor, and the power filter capacitors, provide a synchronous rectifier based topology that is highly effective in current-mode controlling and low EMI noise operation. The device can deliver an output current up to 0.8 A and output voltage up to 26 V.

The UCC3808N-1 is simple to configure as it contains in-built protection features such as Output Over Voltage Protection, Output Short Circuit Protection, Over Voltage Limiting, Over Voltage Recovery, and Over Current Protection.
