Ulra Quad ATMEL ATDG4Q1 is a four-channel dual-gate high performance switch driver integrated circuit. It features four independent channels in a compact, monolithic construction. Each channel comprises two individually addressed gates with an integrated high-side and low-side driver.
Application Field
The ATDG4Q1 is suited for a wide variety of demanding high-side and low-side applications. The device is capable of driving extremely heavy loads and is ideal for industrial applications due to its robustness and superior performance.
On the automotive side, this power switch driver is well suited for use in electrical systems, such as for engine and infotainment applications. On the industrial side, the ATDG4Q1 is suitable for driving heavy loads such as LED lighting and H-bridges.
Working Principle
The ATDG4Q1 is equipped with two individually addressed gates. The two gates are connected in series, one gate serving as an enable input and the other as a control input.
The control inputs are designed to accept TTL, PWM, and analog signals. Depending on the state of the enable input, the controlled output can be turned on and off.
The high-side driver is optimized to drive loads up to 200mA and features a very low turn-on time of 30ns. It is capable of driving both N and P channel MOSFETS in a full-bridge configuration. The low-side gate is capable of receiving a 20mA gate current, with a total power dissipation of 2W.
The ATDG4Q4Q1 is designed to offer high-speed, high-voltage, reliable switching performance and has a wide input voltage range of 5.5V to 18V. It is fully protected against reverse polarity and power supply overvoltage.
