ULQ2003D1 Application Field and Working Principle
Introduction
The ULQ2003D1 is a low voltage, high speed, quiescent bias current cancelling three stage CMOS amplifier. It is designed to provide advances in low voltage operation, high input impedance and high speed).
Application Field
ULQ2003D1 primarily serves two different application fields,One is amplifier circuits and the other one is PLL-based clock circuits.It finds applications in a variety of power amplifiers, active filters, and IF amplifiers,due to its quiescent curret cancelling feature.
ULQ2003D1 also finds applications in many PLL-based clock circuits and other clock-tree applications due its high speed operation.The PLL-based clock circuits can benefit from ULQ2003D1 ability to eliminate DC biases and pedestals.The same feature makes it suitable for use as a clock buffer in clock distribution systems.
Working Principle
The ULQ2003D1 is a Bi-CMOS three-stage amplifier which is classified as a bipolar transistor (BJT) array.It employs an Input stage, an intermediate stage and and an output stage,configured to provide high output drive capability and high gain.
Technically speaking, the ULQ2003D1 is a Bi-CMOS amplifier.It contains two bipolar transistors operating in push-pull configuration.Part of the input signal is matched to one of the single-ended stages of the input transistor which is then matched to the other single-ended stages and amplified.The output stage of the ULQ2003D1 then amplifies the signal from the intermediate stage and drive to the low impedance output.
The ULQ2003D1 is unique in that it can reduce its power consumption by cutting off the quiescent current and reducing the current dissipation.This is done by cancelling the gap between the bias and the quiescent current of the output device.
