Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors

Aluminum electrolytic capacitors (AECs) are electrical devices that store and discharge electric energy in a variety of audio, automotive, and communications applications. They are similar to ceramic disc and paper-based capacitors, but their superior electrical performance and size make them popular components in electronic circuits. AECs consist of an anode, a cathode, and a solid electrolyte. The anode is either an aluminum foil or a ceramic, while the cathode is typically a sintered alloy of conductive metal particles.
