Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors
Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors (AECs) are used in a wide variety of applications, such as consumer electronics, telecommunication, and medical and industrial applications. An AEC consists of an aluminum foil, impregnated with an electrolyte, sealed in a cylindrical metal case and connected to the outside by two electrodes. AECs are used for several different purposes, such as energy storage, signal filtering, and power regulation.One of the most common types of AECs is the UMP1H2R2MDD. These capacitors feature a 260V DC working voltage and a capacitance range from 22nF up to 0.47uF (470nF). They are constructed with an anode aluminum foil and an electrolyte impregnated with an organic solvent. The anode is etched with a specially treated organic material, which enables the electrolyte to be relatively uniformly absorbed and evenly distributed on the anode surface. This provides a high-voltage breakdown strength and reliable performance throughout the life of the capacitor.The UMP1H2R2MDD has two terminals, a positive terminal and a negative terminal. The positive terminal connects to a high voltage source, and the negative terminal connects to a low voltage load. These connections enable the capacitor to store electrical energy and filter signals. A capacitor’s capacitance is increased when the applied voltage is increased.
