The X40411V8-CT1 is an enhanced, extended feature supervisor specifically designed to monitor microprocessor operating systems. It provides a wide operating temperature range, under voltage protection, and internal power-on reset (POR) circuit. It adds supply rail monitoring with higher accuracy, improved reset, and overvoltage protection in a 6-pin SOT23 package.

Application Field

The X40411V8-CT1 supervisor is intended for monitoring microprocessor systems that require extended temperature range, high accuracy reset and monitoring, and overvoltage protection. It is particularly suited for applications such as medical, industrial and automotive systems. Due to its 6-pin SOT23 package and its tiny size, the X40411V8-CT1 is also suitable for applications that required small form factor, such as portable hand-held or wearable devices.

Working Principle

The X40411V8-CT1 includes a master reset circuit, dual window watchdog timer, low power reset and high precision voltage monitor. The master reset circuit is triggered when the power supply voltage drops below a preset trip point and it provides a hard reset to all peripheral devices. The dual window watchdog timer is used to reset the system when it becomes unresponsive. The low power reset is ideal for system low power level trigger protection, while the high precision voltage monitor provides the system with precise and reliable overvoltage protection in the worst case scenarios.

In order to increase accuracy of the device, the X40411V8-CT1 is designed with a 3 bit on-chip power supply accuracy trim. This is used to adjust the reset threshold voltage so that it can be accurately set for the specific application. The device features an on-chip oscillator with a 32kHz clock for precise monitor timing and a resistor programmable reset timeout period.
