1N4005 BK is a common single rectifier diode. It is a piece of electronic component which can direct current in one direction and block it in the opposite direction. Applications 1N4005 BK diode is extensively used in a wide range of applications due to its excellent characteristics. 1. Power Supply RectifierIn power supply systems, this diode is mostly used to rectify the voltage coming from AC to DC, thus providing power for various systems. 2. Voltage CompensationIn systems with high current, this diode can be used to limit the overvoltage caused by the rectifying effect of power lines or due to other external environments.3. Sensing Applications1N4005 BK diodes are popularly used in sensing applications where the diode can sense a small voltage and then allow a large current to flow through it. This action helps in preventing the system from getting damaged by high current.4. inductive loadsThis diode can be used in inductive loads, to provide a low resistance path for the current to flow during the time when current begins to decrease during an offload condition.5. Signal ConditioningSignal conditioning applications make use of this diode for conditioning the wave before passing it to the system for further processing. Working Principle1N4005 BK diode works on the basis of PN junction. When a PN junction is aligned in the forward direction, then the current starts to flow in one direction. When a voltage is applied across the diode, the electric field created across the junction will push the negative charge toward the N-type region and the positive charge toward the P-type region. This process is known as the "drift" process.Once the electric field has enough strength, it starts a process known as "diffusion." This is when the electrons flow to the N-type side and the holes flow to the P-type side, forming an electron-hole pair. This creates a region called the "depletion region."Once the whole process is complete, the electrons and holes will get recombined and the electrons will start to flow in one direction.
