The 25LC160A-E/MS is a memory component widely used in many applications. The working principle of 25LC160A-E/MS is as follows: it is a non-volatile EEPROM memory device, which can maintain its data when the power is off. It has a flash memory cell array, an address register, a data register, a write control circuit, and an erase/program control circuit.
First, addresses to be written or read should be set up in the address register and the desired data should be loaded in the data register. A write operation will be initiated upon application of the write control signal. The write data is written to memory by the erase/program control circuit.
Read operations are initiated by applying the read control signal and devices load data back into the read data register on the next positive edge of the serial clock. To read data, the address register is set to access the memory cell array and the contents of that memory cell are loaded into the data register.
Erase operations are initiated upon application of the erase control signal. During the Erase operation all bits in the selected memory array are decreased from 1 to 0 simultaneously.
Other than the two operation modes, the 25LC160A-E/MS also offers various protection mechanisms such as write protect and write protect override, making it difficult for data to be accidentally erased or modified. This makes it ideal for applications requiring greater data safety and security.
