The 25LC160CT-I/SN, produced by Microchip Technology Inc, is an E²CMOS™ nvSRAM with an integrated Nonvolatile Controller (NVC). It is a low power SRAM with a very wide operating range from -40°C to +85°C with an additional Endurance of 1000 Write Cycles and Data Retention of 40 years.
This device has been designed to provide high-speed access to a zero-power source of volatile SRAM memory. The Nonvolatile Controller (NVC) automatically stores the data in the 25LC160CT-I/SN when the power is removed and restores the data when power is reapplied. This eliminates the need for internal battery back-up functions, thus allowing the processor to start right up with the previous data without any user intervention. Additionally, the 25LC160CT-I/SN supports an 100kHz serial instruction interface, providing the user with maximum flexibility in addressing the SRAM.
Due to its extremely low power requirements, the 25LC160CT-I/SN is ideal for systems that need to process information in real-time, such as industrial automation and process control applications. The extremely low power requirements also allow it to be used in battery-powered and portable equipment such as radios and cell phones.
