AD9814JR is a high-speed precision single supply, micropower, low voltage DAC (digital-to-analog converter). It is designed for interface between digital and analog electronics and is especially useful in portable instruments, low power applications and battery powered systems. It is ideally suited for use in portable and low power systems such as signal conditioning, data acquisition, and audio/video encoding and decoding products.The device works by converting a digital input code into an analog signal with a configurable full-scale output voltage of 0 to 5 V in 16-bit linearity. Offering a low power-consumption of 5.5 mA @ 2.5V, the AD9814JR supports a wide conversion range (0.1V to 5V) with a minimum output current of 0.5 mA.The working principle of the AD9814JR is simple. It receives a digital input code and converts it into an analog signal with a resolved linear response. This is achieved by using the internal low-power voltage reference, eliminating the need for external components. The analog output is generated by a pair of current sources that charge a DAC output capacitor. In order to increase resolution, the DAC also supports an oversampling mode, which is enabled by the additional 24-bit shift register inside the device.
