Direct Digital Synthesis (DDS), is a technique used to generate a precisely calibrated signal with very high resolution. It is used in various fields such as instrumentation, test and measurement, communication, automated production, and multimedia systems. AD9854ASTZ is a direct digital synthesizer chip used in a variety of demanding applications.
The AD9854ASTZ is a high-performance, integrated design that includes a high-performance analog-to-digital converter (ADC), a digital-to-analog converter (DAC), and a phase-locked loop (PLL) to build a complete direct digital synthesizer. The device can run from a fast charge pump, enabling it to generate output frequencies over a wide range – from frequencies down to 1 Hz up to frequencies over 100MHz.
