The working principle of the AN77L06M-E1 is based on the Buck Converter topology. The input voltage is connected to the voltage input terminal and the output voltage is obtained from the output terminal. As the load current increases, the dropout voltage, which is the difference between the input and output voltage, increases, the regulator device maintains the preset output voltage.The AN77L06M-E1 is built by combining an Operational Amplifier (Op-Amp), a transistor formed of P-channel Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor field-effect transistors (MOSFETs) and several other support circuitry such as resistors, capacitors and diodes. The basic function of the Op-Amp is to regulate the output voltage and to reject any legal disturbance or noise which may cause variation in the output voltage. Its output voltage is kept constant by controlling the base voltage of the P-channel MOSFET transistor. The P-channel MOSFET forms the heart of the regulator and acts as the controlling element of the regulator.The switching frequency of the regulator is set by the external oscillator. A feedback loop is provided for the regulation of output voltage. This loop will compare the terminal voltage with a reference voltage and then the corrective action will be taken according to the adjustment of the duty cycle of the regulator.Conclusion
