AP3502FMTR-G1, a DC-DC switching regulator chip fabricated by Anpec Electronics, is a highly customized integrated circuit (IC) device. It is usually used in the applications of digital electronics, telecommunication, and multimedia products, such as flat panel displays, digital cameras, and portable devices.AP3502FMTR-G1 is a voltage regulator IC which is designed to provide regulated DC output power with a wall plug efficiency higher than 90%. It delivers maximum power of 1.5A and a maximum efficiency of 92% in a very small form factor. It is capable of controlling an output voltage from as low as 0.5V up to 12V and supports a wide range of input voltages including a range of 14V to 32V. Thanks to its low voltage dropout (LDO) characteristics, it can even lower the operating supply voltage of peripheral power management ICs and enable energy savings, thus significantly improving the overall system efficiency.AP3502FMTR-G1 can be used with very low quiescent current and is capable of handling high supply ripple in both static and dynamic conditions. Due to its superior light load efficiency, it can be applied to applications with varying load conditions from light to full load, exhibiting excellent transient response. In terms of protection features, AP3502FMTR-G1 offers both thermally and over-current protection. It can be supplied in an 8-pin SOIC package, with a junction temperature range of -40℃ to +125℃.This DC-DC switching regulator chip works on the principle of pulse width modulation (PWM). Through pulse width modulation, the output voltage is regulated to a certain output voltage and the current or power is switched on and off. In this type of regulator, a switching device controls the output voltage, usually by enabling and disabling the input power. When the input power is disabled, the output is regulated by the voltage across the inductor and capacitor.When the input power is enabled, the regulator adjusts the output voltage by controlling the switching device’s duty cycle. The ratio between the on and off times of the pulse cycle determines the output voltage. The higher it is, the higher the output voltage. This way, the AP3502FMTR-G1 allows an intelligent, efficient and flexible way of controlling the output voltage.The AP3502FMTR-G1 DC-DC switching regulator chip allows the integration of the most efficient voltage regulation into a variety of systems, with a minimum component count and space.
