AT45DB161D-TU-2.5 Memory

The AT45DB161D-TU-2.5 serial data flash memory is a high-performance, non-volatile memory designed to address the needs of low-power embedded applications where data integrity, reliability and write endurance are critical. It is capable of storing up to 2Gb of data in its lifetime (2,048K x 8 bits). The devices come in an industry-standard, 8-lead SSD and can be used as a standalone memory, or combined with a larger number of memories for additional storage capacity.

Application fields and working principle

The AT45DB161D-TU-2.5 memory device is suitable for an array of applications, including but not limited to: mass storage, embedded microcontrollers and Internet-of-Things (IoT) devices. The device is capable of data retention up to 10 years and features a continuous read/write cycle endurance of up to 100,000 operations/second.

The AT45DB161D-TU-2.5 device consists of an array of memories and controllers, which enable it to perform various instructions. The device incorporates a Page Write (PW) function, which allows the device to write up to 8K byte of data in a single instruction. Additionally, the device also provides error checking and command status functions.

In order to read data from the device, the remote interface is used. This can be done through the use of a bus protocol, such as I²C, SPI or UART.
