The BQ24003PWP (hereinafter referred to as the device) is a single-cell Li-ion/Li-Polymer battery charger and power path management integrated circuit. It is mainly used in portable electronic devices, such as digital cameras, Bluetooth devices, mobile phones and laptop computers. This device can provide up to 1.2 A typical current with an accuracy of ± 4%. It is designed to detect battery presence, operates in both constant current/constant voltage modes and automatically switches to trickle-charging when the charging current falls below 5 mA.
The device belongs to the PMIC (Power Management Integrated Circuit) family which is responsible for the efficient conversion and regulation of power—both supplied and output—on the board level. PMICs ultimately regulate the power consumption within the device and can be used to control various elements, such as chargers, battery management, system monitoring and power management.
