The BQ4011YMA-70N is an integrated Li-Ion secondary protection device on the smart card market that relies on a unique Memory circuit. The BQ4011YMA-70N Memory device works on the principle of over voltage, over current and double over temperature protection. The circuit consists of a reset circuit, an E2prom, and a watchdog circuit. The reset circuit provides control signals to the E2prom to activate the device and reset it. The E2prom holds all the bits that are written and read to/from the device to carry out the protection functions. The watchdog circuit generates an interrupt signal in the event that the protection threshold is exceeded. This interrupt signal can be used to initiate a reset or an emergency action such as turning the power off.
