The DTC123JUA-TP is a single pre-biased bipolar transistors meant for a variety of applications. Manufactured by Diodes, the DTC123JUA-TP is a medium voltage, high-current device optimized for low noise, high efficiency and long-term stability when used in heavy switching applications. It has an excellent turn-off time, thermal tracking and high input capacitance / collector-emitter voltage ratio, making it ideal for a wide range of applications including power amplifiers, class-D audio, RF switches, data transmission and relay drivers. Additionally, the device features a built-in Zener diode, making it compatible with both positive and negative control voltages.

The DTC123JUA-TP is based on the common collector topology, which consists of a base, collector and emitter. When the base-emitter junction of the transistor is forward biased - meaning that positive voltage is applied to the base with respect to the emitter - the transistor is said to be on. This is known as the saturation region, in which the collector-emitter current flows freely and the device is able to transfer significant current. When the base-emitter junction of the transistor is reverse biased - meaning that negative voltage is applied to the base with respect to the emitter - the transistor is said to be off. This region is known as the cut-off region, in which the collector-emitter current is essentially zero and the device is not able to transfer any current.

The DTC123JUA-TP can be used in a number of applications, including class-D audio and RF switches. When used in a class-D audio application, the device is able to produce low distortion and high fidelity sound, while at the same time consuming very little power. This is thanks to its superior turn-off time and thermal tracking, as well as its high input capacitance/collector-emitter voltage ratio. The device is also well-suited to RF switching applications due to its high-frequency performance, low noise and high current gain.
