Designed mainly for ultra-high speed switching, the EGP10F-E3/73 provides high current density in a very small package size. In addition to its superior performance, the diode offers superior heat dissipation and reliability. This makes it extremely suitable for applications such as frequency and power conversion, in automotive and industrial settings.

The EGP10F-E3/73 is a partial-ohmic junction device, with a single element that allows for faster conduction than a conventional four-layer diode. The device works by directing current in one direction and limiting the current to the other direction. The combination of the diode\'s high current density and low junction capacitance make it suitable for high-speed switching applications, providing a faster reaction time than conventional four-layer diodes.

The EGP10F-E3/73 can be used as a freewheeling diode in power conversion applications. Freewheeling diodes are designed to absorb the inductive loads generated when a switch is opened. This allows the switch to be closed without the need to always reverse bias the rectifying junction. Freewheeling diodes also protect the circuit against voltage rush due to di/dt effects.
