The FM25V20-GTR is a type of non-volatile memory (NVM) of the ferroelectric random-access memory (FRAM) family. The working principle of nonvolatile FM25V20-GTR FRAMs is actually two dimensional addressing: binary bits and a 3-state analog voltage, which is the ferroelectric hysteresis of the memory cell. Discharge and charge time of that voltage string depend on the conditions of the peripheral circuit. The integrated circuits are organized in blocks with each block consists of 64 words of 16-bits per cell.
Since FM25V20-GTR use ferroelectric layer instead of floating gate, its reliability and endurance are much higher than the flash memory. Meanwhile, its bit decay can be reduced by writing with a voltage smaller than 3V. Thus, FM25V20-GTR have become one of the most reliable nonvolatile memories available nowadays.
