The HMC7029LP5E is a Phase-Locked Loop (PLL) synthesizer that can generate an output clock frequency from an input clock reference. A PLL synthesizer is a type of frequency synthesizer that uses an oscillator, or good-quality reference clock, to modulate and stabilize a VCO’s output frequency. A VCO is an oscillatory component whose output frequency can be varied over a continuous range, or “swept”, by adjusting a control voltage.
