The HMC744LC3TR is a low, low-skew, high-performance, clock-buffering, distributed clock driver that is optimized for low-skew, multiple-frequency clock distribution, buffering, and driving. The HMC744LC3TR is ideal for buffering and distributing any signal up to 200MHz. Used in combination with a high precision reference clock signal, the HMC744LC3TR can be used for clock signal buffering, signal distribution, and synchronization from a single source to multiple destinations.
The HMC744LC3TR is an extremely versatile and powerful clock buffering and distribution solution. With its low power consumption, low-skew clock, buffering, and distribution capabilities, the HMC744LC3TR is an ideal choice for any distributed clock signal or multiple-frequency signal generation and delivery need.
The HMC744LC3TR features two low-skew, 400MHz (200psrms) clock channels with differential outputs. These clock lines are connected to the device’s on-chip clock buffers, which serve to buffer and distribute the clock signal locally while other buffering and distribution structures may be used to deliver the clock signal to other destinations. The HMC744LC3TR can also control the fan-out on its output according to user-defined constraints and can be used for clock synchronization as it can provide an improved clock signal to destinations which may be subject to clock skew or jitter.
The HMC744LC3TR also features on-chip phase-locked loop (PLL) synthesizers for clock selection and for Frequency Division Multiplexing (FDM). This provides a powerful solution for multiple-frequency and distributed clock signal applications wherein one or two clock signals can be derived from the same source. One or more of the synthesizers can be used to achieve a wide range of clock frequencies, enabling multiple sources of clock signals to share a common platform.
