The device combines a low-noise, low-jitter clock generator, a PLL, and a voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) to synthesize a wide range of output frequencies.

The clock generator utilizes proprietary UltraSync™ technology to deliver a superior performance over traditional PLL-based devices. The high linearity available in the clock generator enables more robust low-power performance while suppressing spurs.

The HMC783LP6CE employs a programmable integer-N direct digital PLL with high-performance loop bandwidth. A fractional-N architecture accommodates output frequencies of up to 500MHz, with a wide frequency range from 0 to 750MHz.
