The PA provides a high output power of up to +20 dBm, with an Automatic Gain Control (AGC) to reduce the power consumption and extend battery life. In addition, the transceiver is capable of performing Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum (FHSS) operation for additional security.

The device employs a high-performance ARM Cortex-M3 core for system control. The processor includes peripherals such as timers, PWM and ADC/DAC converters. The device has an ultra low power sleep mode for low power consumption. The ARM Cortex-M3 processor supports both serial radio protocols, such as IEEE 802.15.4 and ZigBee, as well as other industrial communication protocols, such as CANbus.
