The JN5148/001,531 is an ultra-low power RF transceiver that has been designed to be embedded in wireless devices such as lighting controllers, wireless sensor networks or home automation systems. It can be employed in wireless sensor networks, home automation systems, fire alarm systems, smart metering systems, industrial-control systems, home and building automation systems and mobile asset tracking.The JN5148/001,531 radio transceiver utilizes a high-performance RF transceiver operating at the 868/915MHz band for communications. It is designed to operate over a wide range of frequencies making it suitable for global deployment in both the 868MHz and 915MHz ISM bands. This RF transceiver is capable of transmitting and receiving data at a maximum speed of 2Mbit/s and supports signal modulation formats GFSK, FSK and MSK, which can be tune with built-in automated frequency control techniques.The JN5148/001,531 radio transceiver also supports Bluetooth 4.0 low energy (LE) power-saving designs and ZigBee stack, including the following features for easy integration and rapid development: an embedded ARM7TDMI processor core, a Frequency-Hopping Spread Spectrum (FHSS) low-power technique of communication and dual data rates for up to 2Mbit/s. Additionally, the JN5148/001,531 also includes an integrated FM receiver, which enables direct frequency monitoring of incoming FM signals utilizing a general-purpose input/output (GPIO) pin. In addition to the ARM7TDMI processor and the radio transceiver, the JN5148/001,531 contains an integrated 8-bit MCU, which is responsible for handling the I/O, analog-to-digital conversion, and timer/count functions. This MCU can be used to control the operation of the radio transceiver, perform vibration detection and monitor battery consumption.
