LM25117QPMHX/NOPB is an application field and working principle of DC-DC Switching Controllers. It is designed for Point-of-Load (POL) converters or isolated power supplies, where only one or a few output voltages are required. It has an adjustable ripple current which is set to 2kHz, turning on and off the outputs at a regular rate. The output voltage of the controller is adjustable from 0V to the maximum voltage using an external voltage reference.

The LM25117QPMHX/NOPB’ s integrated loop compensation-integrated circuit provides an excellent balance between loop stability and transient response for output voltages ranging from 0V to 6V. The integrated compensation facilitates a fast response to current or load changes and maintains a stable output voltage.

LM25117QPMHX/NOPB features two dedicated control pins that allow the user to reduce EMI. One pin controls the rise and fall times of the controller\'s switching C-DACs while the other sets the on-time of the controller. Together, the two pins can provide a large range of switching frequencies to tailor the EMI signature of the converter.

The regulator can be configured with multiple feedback options such as current sharing, voltage scaling, or center-tapped feedback for better regulation. An additional pin allows for synchronization of multiple converters or phase-shifting for ripple current control.

The LM25117QPMHX/NOPB’s integrated power stage has a synchronous MOSFET configurable for buck or boost operation, providing low losses and fast transient response for both. The controller has integrated voltage and current protection, including Extreme Current Limit, Short Circuit Protection and Reset, leading to a robust and safe operation.
