The LM25118MHE/NOPB is an adaptive on-time DC-DC switching controller with integrated high-side and low-side power MOSFETs. The high-efficiency, constant frequency current mode control architecture enables fast transient response and eases loop stabilization. This device operates at 660 KHz and reduces the inductor size. Its maximum current rating is 38 A.

The LM25118MHE/NOPB is suitable for a wide range of low input voltage (4 V to 42 V) and high output voltage (3.3 V to 42 V) DC-DC converter applications such as point-of-load (POL) converters, telecommunication 19 V input voltage, notebook 12 V to 19 V conversion, automotive 12 V to 24 V conversion and distributed power systems.

Working Principle

The working principle of the LM25118MHE/NOPB is based on current mode control. It works by sensing the voltage across the current sensing resistor and comparing it with a reference current. The LM25118MHE/NOPB has an undervoltage lockout feature that shuts off the switching cycle when the input voltage is below 4 V and restarts it when the input voltage is above 4.2 V.
