The LM5021MMX-2/NOPB is an advanced Power Management Integrated Circuit (PMIC) suitable for use in a wide range of applications. It is an AC-DC buck switching converter employing a high frequency synchronous rectification technique. It is specifically designed to provide a high efficiency, high power density and low EMI power solution.The LM5021MMX–2/NOPB is an integrated device that contains an on-chip voltage switch, a synchronous rectifier, a power switch, and control circuitry in a compact package. It is available in a 28-pin QFN package and has an input range of 12V to 50V and output current up to 16A. The device has a wide range of output voltages from 0.6V to 8V. It features a variety of protection features such as under-voltage protection, over-voltage protection and over-temperature protection.The LM5021MMX–2/NOPB is designed to operate without an external control loop from an externally supplied reference voltage, making it easy to implement in applications that do not require the use of an external controller. The device is designed for a wide range of input and output voltages, with a wide input range of 12V to 50V and a wide output range of 0.6V to 8V. The device can be used in a variety of applications including power supplies, battery charging systems, server power supplies, DC-DC converters, isolated DC-DC converters, AC to DC converters, and voltage regulators.The LM5021MMX–2/NOPB adopts a unique architecture that enables the device to efficiently convert AC sources into stable DC supplies. It achieves high efficiency while providing a high power density solution. The LM5021MMX–2/NOPB switches at a frequency of 700KHz and has very low switching losses and high efficiency. The device also features low EMI, which is enabled by an advanced current mode architecture and pulse frequency modulation. The device also features a Spread Spectrum mode which further reduces EMI without having to resort to external components.The LM5021MMX–2/NOPB features integrated protection features including Under Voltage Protection (UVP), Over Voltage Protection (OVP) and Over Temperature Protection (OTP). UVP is implemented by monitoring current flowing through the device and then shut off the switch if the current reaches a predefined threshold level.
