LT8711IFE#TRPBF belongs to the family of DC-DC Switching Controllers, the power management integrated circuitry (PMIC) from Richtek Technology Corp. This device integrates multiple functions including a pulse width modulator, a dual high and low driver, an oscillator and a current monitor/timer into a single package; enabling the LT8711IFE#TRPBF to offer various adjustable configuration making it suitable in a wide range of applications.In general, the main purpose of LT8711IFE#TRPBF is to provide efficient, low power management solutions and to regulate the voltage levels of an input DC source, such as a battery, in mobile and portable systems. The LT8711IFE#TRPBF uses a Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) technique to convert a regulated DC voltage into a pulsed signal, which is used to control the output voltage of a DC-DC converter. The LT8711IFE#TRPBF integrates a dual high and low driver which permits it to drive independently and synchronously two external N-Channel MOSFETs. Its ability to measure currents allows it to provide current-based over-current protection as well as to adjust the switching frequency of the converter in response to load changes. By controlling the voltage regulation, the LT8711IFE#TRPBF maximizes efficiency and reduces power loss.The LT8711IFE#TRPBF supports applications, including industrial, automotive and communications equipment, such as Li-Ion battery charger, instrumentation, and cameras. It is rugged enough to survive general ESD (electrostatic discharge) and EMC (electromagnetic compatibility) conditions and the robust gate drivers enable working in adverse environments.To enable the high efficiency and long operating life, the LT8711IFE#TRPBF features an adjustable current pulse frequency and high-side current sense capability, enabling it to lower power consumption as it can sense and monitor current flow from output MOSFETs. In addition, the adjustable dead-time and switch-on loss feature reduces common mode noise, improving system performance and stability.The LT8711IFE#TRPBF also features an adjustable frequency-based burst mode operation for low-noise applications. This mode enables increased efficiency when operating with light loads where the output is not kept at a constant level.
