The first phase is the pre-charge phase where the battery voltage is monitored and the charging voltage is adjusted based on the pre-charge time setting. Once the battery voltage reaches the pre-charge threshold the second phase begins, the constant voltage phase. The constant voltage phase is used to charge the battery to the user-configurable charge voltage. When the battery reaches the predefined charge voltage, the LX2206ILD enters the endpoint detect phase. This phase is used to check the charge current and the battery temperature before the end-of-charge point is determined. The power switch will turn off when the end-of-charge is detected.The LX2206ILD includes several features that help protect the battery from overcharging. These features protect the battery from excessive current, voltage, and temperature conditions.
