Working Principle

This causes an electric charge to accumulate until it is of sufficient strength to counter the applied voltage. The electric field created by the voltage saturates the surface of the anode with positive ions, thus forming a conductive layer. This forms what is called an electrolytic capacitor.

The M39003/01-2280 has an MnO₂ electrolyte, which is used as the charge-carrying medium between the two electrodes. As the capacitor discharges, the MnO₂ releases oxygen and stores electrons. This stable layer helps maintain a very good amount of capacitance and working voltage, helping the capacitor provide a stable output voltage even when subjected to high temperature fluctuations or when cycling on and off. It also has a very high ripple current rating, which means it can handle high frequency applications.
