The working principle of M39003/01-5629H is based on the storage of electric charges. When the capacitor is not energised, the charges stored between its two electrodes have low impedance thus allowing sufficient current to flow. Once the capacitor is connected to power, the two capacitor plates are charged up, and the charge builds up gradually until it is equal to the supply voltage. Due to the presence of the two different electrodes, the cathode is charged up to a higher voltage than the anode. The stored charge acts as an insulating layer between the plates thus preventing the current from flowing across them. This process is known as “capacitance”, and this capacitor can store large amounts of charge thereby increasing the voltage and current capacity of the circuit.
