Tantalum capacitors are commonly known as Ta capacitor, and M39003/01-7092/HSD is one of the products in the series. This product is widely used in power supplies, computer peripherals, advanced digital circuits, microprocessors and signal processing circuits. Its physical structure is composed of two concentric chemical electrodes, which are known as Ta anode and Ta cathode.

The Ta anode is basically a circular anode made of Ta metal foil. The anode surface is covered with a layer of oxide film as insulation. The oxide film is formed by the natural oxidation of the Ta surface in the air, and its electrical properties can be easily regulated by the treatment of chemical etching or annealing. The Ta cathode is usually an alloy of 94% Ta and 6% Nb, or a solid Ta alloy which has a more stable internal thermal structure.

In a M39003/01-7092/HSD tantalum capacitor, these two electrodes form a parallel plate capacitor which is enclosed in a metal housing. The two electrodes are separated by a thin oxide film. The anode is connected to the outside and the cathode is connected to the inner core.
