M39003/03-2034/HSD application field and working principle

Tantalum capacitors, also known as tantalum electrolytic capacitors, are named after their electrodes, which are made of tantalum. The main structure of a tantalum capacitor consists of tantalum powder and a metal oxide film as the electrodes. Its anode is extremely high purity (99.96%) polycrystalline tantalum powder, and the cathode is a metal oxide film formed by anodic oxidation. In order to improve the performance, a special organic electrolyte is used. Due to the linear relationship between the capacitance and the voltage, a larger capacitance can be obtained for the tantalum capacitor compared with a traditional electrolytic capacitor. It is widely used in electronic products such as mobile phones and TV sets.

When the DC voltage is applied to the anode of the tantalum capacitor, the tantalum powder will adsorb electric positive ions in the strong electric field of the capacitor, and then the voltage will be evenly distributed on the entire capacitor due to the Faraday\'s law. The cations (positive ions) accumulate on the surface of the tantalum powder and become the conductive ions of the capacitor. With the decrease of the voltage, the capacitor begins to discharge. The cations (positive ions) move to the other side of the capacitor, and the anodic oxidation film passes them and the capacitor discharges. The working process of the capacitor is similar to the charging and discharging process of a traditional electrolytic capacitor.

M39003/03-2034/HSD is widely used in medium and small signal decoupling, energy conversion, storage and restraint devices, DC-DC converters, mobile phones and other electronic products. Its main features are small size, low equivalent series resistance, good frequency characteristics, low leakage current and high temperature resistance. In addition, M39003/03-2034/HSD has a wide capacitance parameter range: 3.3μF to 470μF, and a rated voltage parameter range: 4Vdc to 20Vdc. Its advantages are low ESR and good frequency characteristics, which can meet the needs of low-frequency signal filtering, voltage stabilization, signal transmission control, frequency division and other fields.
