Tantalum capacitors are electrolytic capacitors constructed using tantalum as one of the components. This type of capacitor provides some advantages compared to other forms of electrolytic capacitors, such as a high volumetric efficiency, low Equivalent Series Resistance (ESR), stability and a wide operating temperature range. The M39003/09-0207/HSD is an example of a tantalum capacitor. It is constructed using an anodized tantalum slug and a rubber over-mould. The slug is filled with a conductive liquid electrolyte.
