Temperature Sensors - Analog and Digital Output - MAX31730ATC+
The MAX31730ATC+ temperature sensor is an analog and digital output temperature sensor designed to monitor and access ambient and board levels temperatures for operation of thermal protection. It measures both positive and negative temperature variations by monitoring thermal effects near the MAX31730ATC+ die. This device contains an on-chip temperature sensor, analog-to-digital converter, and digital-to-analog converter. All temperature readings are taken through the analog or digital outputs. It also provides additional functions such as pulse-width modulation (PWM) and GPIO control of external thermal elements.The MAX31730ATC+ temperature sensor is designed to measure temperatures ranging from -20°C to +150°C. The device can detect temperatures beyond the range of -54°C to +170°C with a typical accuracy of ±1°C, and is programmed with temperature thresholds and response curves to meet user defined temperature levels. It has two analog outputs that can be used either for temperature or for a precision temperature-to-voltage conversion. It also contains a digital output temperature reading option, which can be used to interface with the host MCU for data analysis and further control.The MAX31730ATC+ temperature sensor operates in two modes: a self-test mode and a normal operating mode. In self-test mode, the device is tested against factory-programmed temperature thresholds, however, in normal operating mode, the device allows for external, user-defined temperature thresholds and response curves. Additionally, the device provides a temperature-dependent PWM and GPIO control output to interface with external thermal elements, such as drivers, fan controllers, or thermal cutouts.The MAX31730ATC+ temperature sensor is ideal for applications such as thermal protection of systems, computer power supplies, temperature management in consumer electronics, and server boards.
