MAX6310UK41D3-T Application Field and Working PrinciplePower management integrated circuits (PMICs) are devices that integrate ICs, voltage regulators, and other components on a single chip for the purpose of providing power management for power-intensive applications. Supervisors are a type of PMIC which provide mainly low-power reset functions, such as a reset output that is used when power supply voltages drop below a certain threshold. Supervisors often include other features such as system power-on reset, supervisory circuits, programmable voltage monitoring, real-time clock (RTC) controllers, and timers. The MAX6310UK41D3-T is a microprocessor (uP) reset supervisor which is available in a 2mmx2mm 10-pin TDFN package, integrating both fixed and adjustable low voltage monitoring and reset functionality.The MAX6310UK41D3-T is designed specifically for use in battery-powered applications. It is used to monitor power rails and ensure power stays within acceptable range, protect the system from excessive voltage by asserting reset, and provide an initial reset when the system is turned on. It is an ideal solution for a wide range of applications including wearable devices, industrial systems, and automation equipment.The MAX6310UK41D3-T features two independent voltage monitors, each with its own independent reset output. The first monitor has a preset delay of 1.995ms while the second monitor’s reset delay is adjustable via an external capacitor. The adjustable second monitor is designed to ensure there is enough time for the system to power up and stabilize before the reset is asserted. The MAX6310UK41D3-T also has an active-low push-pull reset output and supports a reset pin voltage range from 1.8V to 3.3V.The MAX6310UK41D3-T is a low-power, ultra-low-voltage detection and reset supervisor. Operating from a wide voltage range of 1.8V to 5.5V, the IC provides two independent voltage monitors and reset outputs. The first output detects a reset condition when the supply voltage drops too low, and the second output detects a reset condition when the supply voltage rises too high. The two reset outputs are delayed differently, allowing for better control of the reset behavior for different applications.The MAX6310UK41D3-T detects an input voltage and monitors it against a voltage level preset at the factory. When the input voltage reaches or exceeds the factory preset voltage, an active LOW reset pulse will be generated which is adjustable via an external capacitor.This resets the system back to its initial state and is also used to power cycle the system, to ensure all components are functioning as expected.In addition then, the MAX6310UK41D3-T has an active low push-pull reset output which drives a device pin or logic line. This output has a voltage range of 1.8V to 3.3V.
