The MAX6338JUB+ is a high performance microprocessor supervised reset (MSR) IC with tamper-proof power sequencing and low standby current. Working Principle

The MAX6338JUB+ utilizes a non-reference AC/DC monitor circuit to detect when the voltage of its power supply falls below its factory-programmed reset threshold. This voltage is compared against a precise internal reference voltage and the threshold is adjusted by an external resistor. Once the reset threshold is reached, the reset output (RST) will transition from high to low to initiate the power-on reset sequence.

After the reset, the MAX6338JUB+ continues to monitor the power supply voltage and if the voltage level drops below the threshold value for a specified period of time, the reset output (RST) will transition from low to high to initiate the power-down reset sequence. The reset delay feature in the MAX6338JUB+ allows the reset sequence to remain inactive until the power supply has stabilized at the correct reset level. Once the reset delay expires, the reset output (RST) will transition from low to high to initiate the power-down reset sequence.

Additionally, the MAX6338JUB+ provides an active-low manual reset input (MR) that can be used to manually reset the device. This can be used as a last resort to manually restart the system if the power supply fails to reset autonomously.
