The MIC5305-1.8BML-TR is a voltage regulator linear device with integrated diagnostic and protection functions designed to satisfy a wide range of operating conditions. The MIC5305-1.8BML-TR consists of an integrated power booster integrated circuit (IC) combined with a low-side circuit, a high-side circuit, and a current sense circuit. The low-side circuit consists of a bypass capacitor, a voltage divider and a series regulator. The high-side circuit consists of a solid-state switch and a charge pump. The current sense circuit consists of a voltage divider, a sense resistor and a current sense transistor.

The MIC5305-1.8BML-TR operates in a two-step process. First, a constant current is supplied to the load by controlling the input voltage. Then, the voltage regulator regulates the output voltage at the output terminals of the IC by using the voltage divider and series regulator.
