When a voltage is applied to the MOSFET gate, the device enters the Linear Mode. The drain-source voltage increases linearly while the drain current increases exponentially. The MOSFET\'s channel is further enhanced and current is drawn. Lastly, the Saturation Mode is when the drain-source voltage reaches its peak, saturating the MOSFET\'s channel. And the drain current remains constant, even when the gate-source voltage increases. This type of operation produces a very low on-state resistance, which typically ranges from 0.005 Ω to 0.15 Ω, with a maximum drain current of 12A.
