The PLZ36D-HG3/H is a single Zener diode which can be used in a range of low-voltage applications. It is constructed with a combination of two P and N-type layers which act as a rectifying junction. The standard operating voltage range of the diode is 6 to 36V and the maximum reverse breakdown voltage is 40V.
The primary use of a Zener diode is in a voltage regulation circuit, where it helps maintain a constant voltage level by protecting against excessive voltage. To do this, the Zener diode clips away excess voltage, maintaining the desired level via a breakdown mechanism.
The PLZ36D-HG3/H has a maximum reverse current of 50μA and a maximum forward current limit of 100mA. It can operate at a maximum junction temperature of 150°C, as specified by the manufacturer.
